The QV House Price Index measures house price movement throughout New Zealand, providing an indicator of capital growth and how prices are trending in your area.

April 2021

The latest QV House Price Index shows the market hit a new high again in April, with the average home value increasing 8.86% nationally over the past three-month period, up from the 7.8% quarterly growth we saw in March. This comes just over a month since the Government announced measures aimed at dampening the rampant growth of the property market.

Biggest and smallest regional value changes - April quarter 2021

Wairoa has experienced the most value growth this quarter (21.77%), followed by Carterton (17.71%) and Buller (16.63%). The smallest average increase in house prices this quarter was recorded in Mackenzie (0.66%).
